Meal Plan: July 30 – August 6, 2014

We just got back yesterday from a long weekend in Atlanta, GA. I had to attend two days of training for Leveled Literacy Intervention and Rebecca got to chill out in the posh hotel room at the training. We only got to explore a fraction of the city, but I believe we hit two of the highlights: The Sweetwater Brewing Company (tour and tasting), and The Georgia Aquarium. Both were excellent Atlanta landmarks and well worth visiting, though for different reasons. Winky-face.

This week, we have a variety of things happening, food-wise. Guests coming tonight for an informal cookout, my 30th birthday (woo-hoo!), and a couple of amazing recipes from my new favorite cookbook, The Runners World Cookbook. Rebecca and I are scheming to see how much free food I can get on my birthday, since restaurant chains frequently have birthday promotions if you’re on their email list. For example, Coldstone Creamery, IHOP, Firehouse Subs, Denny’s, Ben and Jerry’s, and many more all give you something special on your b-day. So… it’s gonna be a junk-food-all-day-day.

Offsetting junk-food-birthday will be two delicious and healthy meals from The Runners World Cookbook. This thing is a goldmine for healthy and tasty recipes for anyone (not just runners). Check it out.
