Meal Plan: January 16 – 23, 2015

Every time I go to the public library I can’t help but check out 3-5 cookbooks and look for new recipes. This week, featured in the New Books section, was Tyler Florence’s Inside The Test Kitchen. Hot off the press, this book is full of interesting new twists on classic recipes, tweaked to create the “best version.” There is a recipe for Mushroom Risotto Carbonara, for example, which merges classic mushroom risotto with rich pancetta and eggs. I’ve decided to try his new recipe for French Onion Arancini, which calls for filling the Italian rice balls with gruyere and a reduced version of French Onion Soup. YUM.

  • Pizza on vegetable slices (zucchini, eggplant, etc.)
  • Chia Seed Something-Something (I want to know what all the fuss is about)
