Gonna eat me a lot of peaches.

State Farmers Market

SC State Farmers Market, Columbia, SC

Remember that song? The Presidents of the United States of America scored a Billboard Hot 100 hit with that one, way back in 1996. Believe it or not, it was even nominated for a Grammy Award. Don’t remember it? Go check it out, young’uns.

After buying a half bushel of peaches at the SC State Farmers Market, our challenge this week was to prepare as many peach-infused dinners as possible. I daresay we did a pretty good job. That is, not to mention the following boozy / sweet items that were delicious bonuses of Peach Week 2015:

  • Peach Upside-Down Skillet Cake, from The Lee Bros. Charleston Kitchen Cookbook
  • Peach and Sour Cream Pancakes, from The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook
  • Peach Borbon Old Fashioned, from The Peach Truck
  • Iron Skillet Peach Crisp, from Bon Appetit,

Tuesday

Peach, Chicken Sausage, and Blue-Brie Cheese Pizza

Wednesday and Thursday

Tomato-Peach Salad with Tofu Cream, from Leon’s Fine Poultry and Oysters, Charleston SC

Friday and Saturday

Veggie Burgers, Tater Tots, Green Beans

Monday

Cookout with Friends

Tuesday and Wednesday

Mi Bek Farms Hot Dogs with homemade Peach Mostarda, Baked Beans, Grilled Broccoli

Thursday

Beyond Meat Chicken Caesar Salad

On the back burner (a to-cook list):

  • Stuff-on-toast (avocado?)
  • Rice pilaf from scratch
